(Blouse from H&M, Pants TopShop, Shoes by Zara, Edie Purse by J.Crew)
Currently loving my new Edie purse from J.Crew. A perfect size to fit just enough into and a lovely colour to brighten up any outfit.
From my experiences so far, I have to say that J.Crew has amazing customer service. I originally ordered the purse in Oasis Green, as it was the only one on sale with an extra 40% off, making it around $130 after taxes and shipping (to Canada), versus $276 at regular price before taxes and shipping.
Unfortunately when I got the purse the turn lock was bent downwards and when I attempted to bend it back it became loose. Since it was final sale, I wasn't sure if they would do anything about it, but I called the 24 hour customer service number and was given a refund right away. I would have preferred to just exchange the purse in-store, but J.Crew Stores in Canada do not accept web returns as of yet. Although the green was out of stock, they were willing to honour the same price for any other colour. I was also told I would be refunded for any costs to ship the package back to them.
All in all, I was very happy with their service. Quick, efficient and kind. I definitely don't think that this purse is worth $276...but I love it for its design and colour and highly recommend if it goes on super sale again!

They make such beautiful colors! If you are able to go to the outlets, the factory version is $76 right now. https://twitter.com/SewPetiteGal/status/241926572527996928/photo/1

I've been eyeing this purse for so long but haven't been able to afford to pull the trigger. It's such a classic shape that you know you'll have it for ever.
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting on my blog - your blog is super cute :)
i love your yellow top and goes so well with your purse!!! now i want one! :D
ReplyDeleteI need a bag to go to work. And I have to choose between edie and longchamp planètes tote, so could you give me some advices? I'm so confuse. Thank you
ReplyDeleteHi! I'd be happy to help. :)
DeleteTo start off, what do you plan on carrying to work? If you are like me and need lots of room for a wallet, papers, lunch and maybe a book, you might want to go with the Longchamps Planetes. I find that bag to be a more versatile and practical option. It zips up all the way and although it only has one small separate pocket, it works for me. The Planetes also comes in an even larger size than the one I use (http://ouipetite.blogspot.ca/2012/06/longchamp-planetes-review.html).
For the Edie bag, I tend to use it more as a light-carrying day bag. It is not large enough to fit more than my wallet and a few other things. If you are stuck on the Edie though, I would try the Edie Attaché (http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/handbags/PRDOVR~21959/21959.jsp). It doesn't come in many colours, and I haven't used or seen myself firsthand but looks like a nice alternative.
Overall, I would say that the Longchamps Planetes is a better quality bag (http://www.longchamp.com/en/planetes-women-255.html) compared to the Edie. The Planetes is made in Tunisia and the Edie made in China. At first look and feel, the Planetes is the better made bag.
Not only that, it is priced LOWER than the Edie. I personally paid around $130 CAD for my Edie and about $190 CAD for my Planetes tote. Right now, J.Crew has the Edie at $276 USD (I would wait for a sale) and the Planetes is priced as $155 USD on their site.
Let me know if you have anymore questions or feel free to email me. :)
Thank you so so much for your advices. It's very helpful for my choice. I'd prefer Planetes than Edie. It's better quality bag and cheaper than J.Crew's bag.
DeleteThanks again!!!
No problem at all! I'd love to hear how you like the bag when you get it. :)
DeleteThe Edie bag is so perfect. :)
